The Atacama Crossing is part of the 4Deserts series of 250 km stage races set in extremely challenging environments. The Atacama Crossing is a race across Chile’s Atacama Desert, one of the the driest places on Earth. The Atacama has a unique landscape and features salt lakes, volcanoes, lava flows and sand dunes, terrain which is rarely flat,a harsh climate and altitude that averages some 2500 m (8000 ft).
