The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run takes place in the San Gabriel Mountains in CaliforniaThe Acorn Trail leads out of Wrightwood to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which is a National Scenic Trail extending 2,568 miles from Mexico to Canada. The Angeles Forest segment of the PCT extends 170 miles northwest from Wright Mountain above Wrightwood to a point south of Highway 58.

Race Comments

As a multi time finisher of AC and 0-3 at WS, I would rate AC as probably a good 90 minutes slower than WS. The views you get both early in the race and then later on after leaving Chantry Flats at mile 75 are very cool. However, unlike WS, the last 25 miles of AC are the toughest miles on the course. Long, tough climbs and then technical, rocky downhills. If you can finish AC, you know you have been in a race. It will give you all you bargain for.
