The Transe-Gaule (Trans-Gaul) is a 1100 km stage race which takes place in France and is the longest regularly held stage race in Europe and was first held in 2001. The event had 15 starters and 11 finishers.

Course
- Starting at Roscoff in the North the route takes country roads through rural France passing taking in Brittany, Anjou, Limousin, Auvergne and Languedoc-Roussillon finishing in Gruissan-Plage on the Mediterranean.
- Stages vary from 49 km to 75 km spread over 18 days and 1150 km
- The race is limited to 50 runners who have to provide their own support crew if they need one.
- Accommodation is provided.
- Breakfast for 18 days and dinner for 13 days is provided.
