Arthur Newton, moved back to England just after the last warand his house became the Mecca for the Road Running fraternity of the period and Arthur their Guru. The first official ladies race was held in 1980 after an unofficial trial race in 1979.
After a short period of not being organised, the Lonon to Brighton has been revived by Extreme Running.org
