The Napolean Ultra is a seven day stage race from Moscow, Texas to Paris, Texas. The inaugural event took place December 2012 and was organised by Russel Secker.
Background
In June 1812, Emperor of France Napoleon Bonaparte led a Grand Army of 500,000 men towards Moscow. By December, barely 25,000 of those men had made it back to Paris. The rest had perished, along with thousands of Russian soldiers and villagers. They had died from disease, heat, cold, hunger, drowning and enemy attack.
To commemorate the bicentennial of this tragic piece of history, Russel Secker organized the Napolean Ultra.
Inaugural race had 10 starters.
