Organised by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team the Self-Transcendence 6 day race takes place in Flushing Meadow Park in New York. Founded in 1998 by Sri Chinmo, this is the longest running annual six day race in the world and attracts a truly international field of runners. Running concurrently with the Self-Transcendence 10 day race this 6 day road race features unpredictable weather taking place at the end of April and the beginning of May.
Records
Dipali Cunningham has won every edition of the ladies race winning several races outright. Course record is held by Lithuanian-born Rimas Jakelaitis set in 2001 when he ran 901 miles.
