The Everest Marathon is a 25 day holiday in Nepal, combining sightseeing in the capital Kathmandu, a hard trek to the Everest region, an ascent of Kala Pattar for the best views of Everest, and one of the most gruelling races in the world.
Course
The race starts at Gorak Shep (5184m), just below Everest base camp, and finishes in the Sherpa 'capital' of Namche Bazaar (3446m). The course is a measured 26.2 miles/42 km, the trail undulates and there are two steep uphill sections.
Start
7 am with cut-off points at 14 miles and 20 miles.
