Lon Las Cymru 2017 just got started in Holyhead. This new 253 mile race from the Northwest of Wales to Cardiff in the south saw 29 runners depart from the Ferry Terminal at 7:00 am following Cycle route 8.
The event is self-supported with checkpoints every 50 miles where runners van access drop-bags.
Cut off is 89 hours. Race Director Mark Cockbain said he was relieved the race was under way.
