Hagi Oukan Ultra Marathons, Japan

Hope you all had a great Golden Week whether you packed it with activity or just chilled while enjoying the (mostly) good weather. GH headed to Yamaguchi on Thursday to take part in the annual ultra running festival. Events include a 250km run and 140km, 70km and 35km runs and 60km and 35km walks. All start at Rurikoji Temple with its impressive five-storied pagoda in Yamaguchi city and the courses include sections of a picturesque 400 year old Hagi Oukan trail that connects the historical castle town of Hagi and Yamaguchi.

  1. I ran the Hagi run in 1997, 98, 99, and 2000. All were the 35K except 1999 which was 70K. I had a great time each year. Loved the run, the people, and the course. Hope to run the race again some day.
