The June 6, 2009 Blue Canyon Trail RaceR offers challenging 50K, 50M, and 100K out-and-back course options in the Los Padres National Forest, with gains upwards of 10,000 to nearly 20,000 feet. The event is hosted at the family-friendly Rancho Oso resort, just 30 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara

Produced by Blacksmith EnduranceR  the Blue Canyon Trail RaceR is sponsored by National Geographic TOPO! Software, and Hammer Nutrition.  Event organizer Robert Gilcrest rewarded the series’ first applicants with complimentary race fees, to thank them for their involvement in the event, which benefits the Los Padres Forest Association.

Other upcoming Blacksmith EnduranceR events include the Oct. 1-4 DRTE 100R ultra marathon; July 11 SUP-portR stand-up paddleboarding race; and an August 1 challenge between paddleboarders and SUPs dubbed the Central California Paddlers ChampionshipR.
