Vladimir Bychkov & Irina Koval Win European 24 hour championships 2006

Vladimir Bychkov won the European 24 hour track championships at the Lupatotissima in Italy. Second place, after an epic battle that apparently went right to the last minute with home boy Antonio Mammoli, went to Geert Stynen from Belgium with 248 km apiece.

In the ladies race Irina Koval, with229 km, made it a Russian sweep of Golds finishing some 4 km in front of Czech runner Michaela Dimitriadu and Edit Berces, from Hungary, took the Bronze with 211 km.
