If you would like to add a date to the calendar its very easy and there’s no fees, no strings, not even a login. Just go to the Add Event page and fill in the form. If you would like to have a 468×60 banner at the top of the page then we have a special discount for the rest of October $10/month, $15 two months. Offer valid until midnight 31st October 2013.

Latest Races & Dates Added to Calendar & Special Offer Multidays.com - Multiday and Ultrarunning News

There is a new calendar on the website: http://multidays.com/multiday-ultra-calendar/.

Thanks to Richard Bull and Googledocs, it’s now possible to submit your own race information in the newly located Entry form and have it entered into the spreadsheet that runs the calendar. It still won’t appear immediately because after an addition of site caching solutions. It still needs to be re-sorted to put the event in the correct place (if anyone knows how I can automate this this it would be a great help) and of course I still have to check that people aren’t submitting links to things other than races.

However this will drastically reduce the amount of time I have to spend on the calendar updates when an event is submitted – my archaic methods took forever and consequently events will appear a lot sooner.

Some things remain. Every year we have to enter a new date so until we can figure that one out, race organisers have to visit once a year. But its worth it as its free and a fairly popular resource – the calendar is usually the most visited page on the site.

New Race Entry & Calendar Format Multidays.com - Multiday and Ultrarunning News

The structure of the news is broken into three main areas.

• Multiday News – main site – multidays.com
• Ultrarunning News – ultrarunning.multidays.com
• UK (Ultra) News – ultrarunningworld.co.uk (This is actually a separate site)

Currently this post is in the ultra-news category on the main site and these posts will migrate to the new Ultrarunning News section and this category will be retired.

All new posts and updates are on a new subdomain of the site however the old /ultranews section will remain during transition .

This address will remain viewable for the next 3 months and will then redirect to the new location.

As an aside, I noticed that since the site began recording stats back in 2006 there have been 848,015 visitors – not hits – to the site and at this rate should reach a million by the end of the year. I think we shall celebrate that milestone in some way.
