Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race Day 11

The worst rain storm

Around 7 in the evening a huge thunderstorm, which had been threatening for about 2 hours hit. It brought with it very strong winds and even some small hailstones , but mainly it brought tons of rain. Within minutes the sidewalk race set-up was devastated. Some runners dove for cover, some just donned their rain gear and stayed out there. Sahishnu the on call race director said to me, that it was easily the worst storm he had seen in all the years of the race. Up until that time the race day had been hot and sticky, what a dramatic change. I did notice 1 of the race photographers out there, so look for some awsome picture in days to come.
