Self-Transcendence 24 Hour Race Tooting Bec 2006

Great performance by John Pares (Buckley RC) making his debut at the 24 hour distance to win this years Self-Transcendence Tooting Bec 24 hour race. Pares finished with 143 miles (230 km) and was chased nearly all the way by Sweden’s Reima Hartikainen who totaled 139 miles at the races end. Third place went to Ireland’s Eoin Keith with 136 miles.

Norway also provided the ladies winner Torill Fonn who prevailed over Mette Pilgaard from Denmark. Third spot was well earned by Sandra Brown who qualified for the GB 24 Hour team going to Cananda for the 24 hour championships in 2007.

22 runners went over 100 miles from an oversubscribed field of 43 runners.
