Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team ran a few marathons and ultramarathons in his time. Not really a long distance runner, preferring sprints at which he excelled in his native India, he nevertheless practiced his philosophy by increasing his mileage setting a personal best of 3:55:07 at the Heart-Watchers Marahon, Toledo, OH 25 Mar 1979. To honour the 30th anniversary of the start of his marathon running career, some of his students ran a marathon in Queens, New York a few days ago. Utpal Marshall has produced a short video with footage of the spiritual teacher from 30 years ago and some of his students running today.
