Stage Race

Race Update No. 1 (FINAL)

Packet pickup:
Packet pickup will be at the shelter cave Blanchard Springs Caverns (start/finish line).
Thursday afternoon from 3:00pm till 7:00pm
Friday morning from 6:00 till 9:30am, 20k, (last chance for stage runners)
Saturday morning from 5:30 till 6:30am. 60k
Sunday morning from 5:30 till 6:30am, 50k

Pre race check-in:
20k: Check-in will begin at 9:30am
60k: Check-in will begin at 6:30am
50k: Check-in will begin at 6:30am

Race start times:
20k: Friday, March 17 at 10:00am
60k: Saturday, March 18 at 7:00am
50k: Sunday, March 19 at 7:00am
*Race management reserves the right to make changes as necessary.

Race start/finish location:
All three runs will start and finish at the pavilion.

Cut-off Times:
20k: 3:00pm (5 hrs)
60k: 6:00pm (11 hrs)
50k: 4:00pm (9 hrs)

Pre race meals:
Chef Cal will be preparing meals after the 20k and 60k runs for all registered runners and paid guest.
We will begin to serve food at around 4:00pm after the 20k and around 3:00pm after the 60k.

Menu:
20k: Pasta w/ red sauce, salad, bread and drinks.
60k: Red beans and rice, salad, bread and drinks.


Course:
20k: Same course as last year. Lots of climbing on100% single-track trail.
60k: Mostly the same course as last year. Lots of climbing on 100% single-track trail, three creek crossings.
50k: New distance, new course. Big climb at start then rolling, 13 miles of new trail, 100% single-track trail.
*The courses and distances will change next year.

Course Marking:
20k course will be marked with red and white striped flagging.
60k course will be marked with black and yellow Montrail flagging.
50k course will be marked with blue and white flagging.

Course Profiles:
20k: 3,000 ft elevation gain.
60k: 9,000 ft elevation gain
50k: 4,500 ft elevation gain

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be 4-7 miles apart, manned stations will have a variety of food and drink, several will be non-manned with water and gatorade only.

Awards:
Awards will be given to the overall male and female finisher of each individual race.
Trophies to the overall male and female of the stage race. Awards to the top five male and female.

General information:

• There will be a drawing for swag after the Montrail 60 for all stage and 60k entries only. Drawing will be at 6:00. Once again we have some really cool stuff to give away!

• If you reserved a campsite at race central there will be a $1.25 per person per night fee (100% of this fee goes to the forest service). See race management at check in.

• You must have a parking pass to park your car in the park. Pickup passes at race central.

• Drop bags for the Montrail 60k must be dropped at the pavilion by 6:00am race morning.

• Inner Touch Massage Therapy will be on site after the 60k offering massages for a fee. Please support.

• Photos during the runs will be taken by local photographer Phillip Walrod Photography, please support his efforts by purchasing some photos.
