The time is nearing for the 2006 "3 Days of Syllamo"
stage race. The distances for 2006 will be 20k/60k/50k the same
course for the 20 and 60k and an additional 10k added to the final
days run. Once again we will have our great sponsors, MONTRAIL and
PATAGONIA and the same great . The entry form is now up!

March 17, 18, 19, 2006
Day One: 20k
Day Two: 60k
Day Three: 50k
All three runs will be held within the Sylamore Ranger District,
and are 90% on single-track trails including the Sylamore trail,
Sylamore horse trails, and the Syllamo mountain bike trails.

The trail name Syllamo dates back to an infamous resident of the
area in the early 1800s. A Creek Indian named Syllamo roamed these
hills and valleys that were eventually anglicized and named for
him Sylamore.
THE PROGRAM
Day One: 20k, This run will take place on the Syllamo mountain
bike trail. Aid will be provided at the halfway point.
Day Two: Montrail 60k, “This is where the fun starts”.
This run will be held on the Sylamore trail and the Syllamo mountain
bike trail that winds, climbs and descends through the beautiful
Sylamore Ranger District including several creek crossings, past
scenic vistas and bluffs and through dense forest. Full aid stations
will be located approximately 4-6 miles apart.
Day Three: Ozark Outdoor 50k, This run will take place on forest
roads, Sylamore trail and the Syllamo mountain bike trails. Full
aid stations will be located approximately 6 miles apart.
General information:
· Entry fee $120 for all three runs, $25 for 20k, $65 for
60k and $50 for 50k individually before March 1, 2005. After March
1st the entry fee will be $140 for all three, $30 for 20k, $70 for
60k and $55 for 50k individually. Entry fee will include giveaways,
great race bags and meals after both the 20k and the 60k.
NO REFUNDS
· Race headquarters will be at Blanchard Springs Campground
pavilion.
· All races will start and end at Blanchard Springs Campground.
· There will be an informal scrub run on Thurs, March 16
(time to be determined). 20k will start at 10:00 AM (check-in begins
at 9:00AM), 60k will start at 8:00 AM sharp (check-in begins at
7:00AM). 50k will start at 7:00 AM sharp (check-in begins at 6:00
AM).
· Courses will be marked with flour and surveyors ribbon.
· NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
· Entries are limited to 120.
· Awards will be given to the overall male and female, masters
male and female and to all finishers of the stage race. Awards will
be given to the overall male and female, and masters male and female,
for the Montrail 60k and the Ozark Outdoor 50k individually.
· Drop bags may be put out on the 60k and 50k only.
· Post race meal AND party will be provided after the 20k
and 60k.
· No dogs on the course please!
Driving directions:
· From Little Rock, Arkansas: Take I-40 North to Conway; 65
North to Clinton; 16 East to Shirley; Highway 9 North to Mountain
View; Left turn at the square; Right on 87; left on 14; look for entrance
to Blanchard Springs Caverns. (Approximately 114 miles)
Accommodations:
Blanchard Springs Campground (Race headquarters): Least primitive

(Several campsites have been reserved for the race)
Barkshed Campground (12 miles from race headquarters): Primitive
camping at a minimal fee, pit toilets, spring water.
Gunner Pool Campground (20 miles from race headquarters): Somewhat
primitive camping at a minimum fee, pit toilets, running water.
