ENERGIA 24-HR RACE 2016.
Apologies for the radio silence but have been sorting a few things out.
Energia24 is on the move. After 6 years at the Mary Peters’ track(including 1 enforced move to Bangor)we are changing venues to Victoria Park in East Belfast.
We’ll be sad to go but the main reason is in search of more space. The course there should accommodate more people. It’s a circuit of just under 1.7K – meaning you’ll not have to change direction ( unless a lobby group protests that you still want to change direction!) – and it’s pretty much flat all the way round.
We are going a bit earlier date wise too: Sat/Sun June 25/26 with a noon start to allow the Parkrun there to go as usual at 9.30am.
Entries will go live at Active(Energia Belfast 24-Hour Race 2016) next Thursday,December 17. Price structure is the same as this year: £50 to Feb 29,£60 to April 30 and £75 to the closing date which is Fri,June 10. The relay (at least one-woman in a team of 4 each doing 3 x 2hr stints) is also the same:£100.
Unfortunately, for the 2016 race there will be no transfer of entries. But if you transferred from 2015 we’ll be in touch by email to see if you want to take up that place.
If you don’t fancy the 24-hr, there’s always the 12-hr, the 100K,the 2.4min (U10s) and the 24 secs. (U5s).
We’re excited about the move and suspect that it will be a course that will lend itself to big miles/kms – so are expecting the 100-mile club jackets to take another hammering!
We’ll supply more info as it comes along.
