A field of almost 70 started under extreme rainy conditions. Organised under IAU rules, major Spanish ultra club Ñ Ultrafondo set a fantastic scenario for new experiences and chances for good performances. All asphalted and mostly flat 1.000m course got soaked well before race starting time arrived.
Though, Jose Manso (ESP) got a 216,100m PB for a local win after 8h hours on a row under the rain. (more…)

After the main race, the UTMB®(Tour du Mont-Blanc), then the CCC® (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix), born 2 years ago, a new event is appearing on the paths of the Tour du Mont Blanc: the Petite Trotte to Léon. (more…)

The 2007 event produced a new 48 hour record from the eventual winner Wolfgang Schwerk who had been aiming at Yiannis Kouros’s 6 day record. A firm believer in Self-Transcendence, Schwerk was back for another crack at the goal in this years 7 day event and managed to top last years total of 1,011 km by one km on his way to his second victory in Athens. In second place was fellow German Hans-Juergen Schlotter, who covered 900 km. Third spot was taken by Italian Lucio Bazzana with 854 km.
First lady was Germany’s Martina Hausmann with 804 km and second was Lu Chiu Shu-Jung, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) with 785 km and third place was Maria Tahkavuori from Finland with 732 km. (more…)
Yiannis Kouros won this years 48 hour race in Brno, Czech Republic with 408 km. Great performance for second place went to 35 year old Czech lady, Michaela Dimitriadu with 364 km. Third place went to Jiri Hofman with 351 km.

Wolfgang Schwerk is back in Athens with an eye on Yiannis Kouros’s 6 day record. Last year Schwerk totaled 936 km for the 6 days and at the end of Day One this year has 219 km (136) miles.
In second place is Hungary’s leading lady Edit Berces with 200 km and in second place is Elke Streiker with 186 km.

There will be no 24 hour race this year, instead II Endurance 24h race will be organized January 31st - February 1st, 2009 in order to fit the race better with international ultra-calendar (Spartathlon, 24 hour World Cup, Bislet 24 hour race etc..).

IAU International 24 Hour Ultramarathon Palic 2008
Elvira Janosi and her daughter, Bibor, organized the first international 24 hour ultramaraton in Palic 2007. The race got from the IAU the BRONZE LABEL. The event was very successful. 57 runners took part in the race from 5 different countries and will be held again in 2008.

Just noticed an old post on Yanoo.net about a proposd 100km race in France. Dont know if it is still being planned. Here is the translated info and the link to the source.
