Mohamad Ahansal wins the 23rd Marathon des Sables race in Morocco. Second place went to Salameh Al Aqra from Jordan and third was Aziz El Akad also from Morocco. First lady was Touda Didi also from Morocco.

A new race in Ethiopia will take place from the 2-9 of February 2008. 140 km spread over 4 days and is a self-supporting race with water supplied.
