    George Archer 6 Day Circuit Race 2008 - Results

    Jesper Olsen, one of Denmarks finest ultrarunners, has won the George Archer 6 day race North of Johannesburg, South Africa. Jesper totalled 685 km, 425 miles. Second place was Vlastimil Dvoracek from the Czech Republic with 656 km. Third place was Bongani Ndlovu from South Africa.

    Fourth overall and first lady, setting a new course record was Australia’s Sarah Barnett from the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team with 634 km. Barbara Tims was second with 492 km and Susan Hurter was third lady with 472 km.

    24 Hours of Boulder 2007 - Results

    Last weekend saw the fourth running of the 24 hours of Boulder race. Results are available on the site. Race includes solo, duo and team categories plus a 100 mile race.

    Ryan Cooper was first with 114 miles and first lady appears to be Lori Cooper who finished with 64 miles.

    South Africa 6 day Race 2008

    The Six Day Circuit Race which was cancelled for financial reasons for 2007, has been put on the calendar for March/April 2008. The final date will be confirmed as soon as the 2008 school holiday dates are available. (more…)

    South Africa’s Longest Races Postponed After New Edict

    Thursday 18th January 2007

    Hot on the heels of the latest ruling by the ASA concerning a ban on “any marathon or ultramarathon occuring within 6 weeks of any other ASA marathon.”

    The 2007 Six Day Race and 12/24 Hour Circuit Races have been postponed as a result of certain administrative difficulties which have not yet been overcome.

    No Finish Line and Ultracentric 24 hour races 2006

    This weekend sees three big events in the 24 hour calendar beginning with the No Finish Line in Monaco.

    The seventh edition of the No Line Finish will be held from the 18 to November 26, 2006 in order to celebrate as it should be National Child Day, which is on November 20. The Edition 2006 is under the the Patronage of SAS the Prince Souverain Albert II, the Stéphanie Princess being the godmother of the NFL who will be present throughout the week.

    This non-commercial event is a fundraiser for childrens charities and runners can run a 24 hour race on any of the days. Some well known runners will be appearing to make this a competitive event including William Sichel from Orkney, Claude Hardel, Christine Bodet-David and Serge Girard from France.

    In South Africa the inaugural Coaldust 12/24 race will be taking place at W.H. De Klerk School , Witbank at 6:00 pm on Friday 17th of November.

    This year’s  American 24 hour National Championships will be taking place in Grapevine,Texas. This event will be an opportunity for runners to be selected for the World 24 hour Champinships next year in Canada. This will also be a well contested race with 70-80 runners signed up.
