Delorean Goes to Phoenix

Yes it was that time of year again. The Across the Years run in Phoenix. The race begins before the new year and ends Jan 1 of the following year hence Across the Years. I have now attended the race seven times celebrating the coming of the new year on the track drinking champaign and watching fireworks. It is a multiday race offering various formats and over the years I have entered the 6day, 72hr and 48hr races. (more…)

Subject: ATY race report, or what might have been

For years I had read about the Across The Years race with interest, knowing how much I’d like to try it. But both the Arizona distance and the time of year made this pretty unlikely, since Jane and I have separate sets of kids, equally far flung and desiring our Xmas participation if we feel like cross-country holiday travel (Kansas, Montana, northernmost Vermont, etc.).
But finally this summer, with the increasing desire to make this race at least once before I get too darned old to be competitive, I decided to enter the lottery. The Sri Chinmoy 6-day I had done in May showed me just how much I would enjoy multiday racing. (more…)

Across The Years (ATY) is well underway and after the first 24 hours Tony mangan has a cushion over John Geesler and Tracy Thomas has 11 miles on Juli Aistars.

Website has a blog with race news plus race standings are updated in virtually real time plus there’s photos and videos. What more could anyone sat at home need?

News about the registration process for the 2007 Across The Years 24/48/72 hour event in Phoenix Arizona is now available on the site blog. Some runners will be invited and the remaining slots will be decided by lotteries which will take place in the first week of August.

Roger Wrublik is looking for volunteers to help prepare for this years ATY event in Arizona. Those who agree to help out will receive an enhanced opportunity to apply for a spot in the lottery that will decide who will run in the event this year and some people will get guaranteed entries.
