    1000 km of France 2008 - Be realistic, try the impossible one!…

    Just noticed an old post on Yanoo.net about a proposd 100km race in France. Dont know if it is still being planned. Here is the translated info and the link to the source.

    “Be realistic, try the impossible one!… ” “the 1000 Kilometers of France” is a new pedestrian test of course/marche suggested by Association Headlight-West Organization (1) on a route of a distance close to thousand kilometers, crossing France of the English Channel in the Mediterranean. It acts of the individual race, longest ever suggested in France, whose starting point is located at the foot of the Mount-St-Michel (Handle) and the finishing line at the balance of the headlight of the port of Sète (Herault).     No Finish Line 2007

    The No Finish Line event begins today at 14:00 hours Monaco time.
    There is a webcam that refreshes itself every 20 seconds on the site.

    There are 6 runners in the 6 day event:
    Sichel William, Roy Bernard, Gayter Sharon, Bourgueil Pascal, Gallou Philippe, Ria Buiten

    The 8 day has 34 runners and 42 runners are signed up for the 24 hour event.

    The organisers of La Trans Aq’; a stage race (6 days) along the magnificent coastline of Aquitaine (south-west of France) have announced the date for the 2008 event.

    TRANSE GAULE VII : August 13-30, 2008

    “NEXT YEAR, TRANSE GAULE !…”, during this month of September I heard it many times, from Gruissan to Lörrach. I heard it from stars’ hunters wanting to add one more to their collection (), from Deutschlandlauf strong survivors planning to visit La Douce France and also from TransEurope 2009 entrants who need to run kilometers and kilometers in the 18 months to come… Altogether around 30 runners already told they plan to run Transe Gaule 2008. So it feels important and urgent to inform you that the number of runners will be limited to 45 on the start line. (more…)

    Martin Wagen has his nose in front of Stéphane Pélissier in this years Transe Gaule. First place lady is Germany’s Elke Streicher who’s lying seventh overall.

    The 6th edition of the Trans-France race known as La Transe Gaule starts today and a list of competitors is available at the link below. Ever present American ultra legend Don Winkley is back to enjoy his favourite race along with runners from England, Netherlands, Germany,Switzerland and Taiwan joining their French compatriots to give this event a real international flavour.

    At the 82 hour mark, Christopher Laborie (456 km) had a 29 km lead over Jesper Olsen (427) who in turn had a 9 km lead over Yves Chomont and 4 km behind Yves was leading lady, Martina Haussman on 414 km.

    Antibes 6 Day Race 2007

    The French 6 Day race starts tomorrow, 9th of June, in the South of France. 44 runners are signed up and 17 others have chosen to run the 48 hour which starts on the 14th and finishes at the same time as the 6 day. Ultrafondus seems to be helping out so hopefully there will be lots of updates on the site.
    Among the runners appearing will be Danish World Runner, Jesper Olsen, stretching his legs a little.
