Transe Gaule RD, Jean Benoit has sent news of the upcoming Deutschlandlauf 2007 in English and French:

Avec l’inscription récente de notre Australopithèque préféré Kelvin Marshall* ce sont pas moins de 10 Vétérans transegaulois qui se retrouveront lundi prochain 10 septembre à l’extrémité nord de l’Ile de Rügen sur la ligne de départ de la Deutschlandlauf 2007. Au programme 17 étapes comprises entre 55 et 93 km pour un total de 1205 km à se coltiner si possible sans grimacer. Arrivée des survivants le 26 septembre à Lörrach, à la frontière Allemagne-Suisse-France tout près de Bâle. (more…)

In 2001 Martin Wagen from Switzerland was one of the 15 Pioneers of Transe Gaule’s first edition. He finished the coast-to-coast 18 day race across France in 4th place, fighting with shin splints during the second half of the race. That was a learning time for him… (more…)

The end of this years Transe Gaule is in sight with Martin Wagen looking to secure a well deserved win in this great event. Elke Streichner from Germany has a clear lead over the women. The race ends tomorrow on the beach on the shores of the Mediterranean
at La plage (des Chalets) à Gruissan Plage.

The 6th edition of the Trans-France race known as La Transe Gaule starts today and a list of competitors is available at the link below. Ever present American ultra legend Don Winkley is back to enjoy his favourite race along with runners from England, Netherlands, Germany,Switzerland and Taiwan joining their French compatriots to give this event a real international flavour.

Martin Illot is scheduled to complete his record breaking solo trek across the United States on Monday 11th of June according to is website. Martin started his quest to be the first Brit to solo the US on March 30th this year.
