The Green Mountain Relay, a 200-mile endurance race, will take place Saturday and Sunday June 21 and 22, taking advantage of the summer solstice. The relay will start in Jeffersonville at the Cambridge Elementary School and wind down through the heart of Vermont and the Green Mountains, on both paved and dirt roads, crossing seven covered bridges and passing through many small, picturesque towns. Madison-Chicago 200 (”MC200″) - Madison WI to Chicago IL June 6-7, 2008
On Friday, June 6th, 2008, begin a 200-mile trek through the bike trails, rolling hills, city streets and lakefront paths that run from
Madison, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois. Relay teams will begin in a wave start in Madison on Friday morning at 7:00 a.m., and every hour thereafter, until 4:00 p.m., with starting times based on the respective teams’ estimated finishing time. (more…)
A new 200 mile relay race is being planned for 2008 that will run over June 6th and 7th in 2008.

The 10th Annual Colorado Relay, a 24-hour+ 170-mile team relay race, is Colorado’s Premier Team Relay designed for athletes of all abilities. The 2007 Colorado Relay will run on September 21-22, 2007. Registration is still open for the 2007 event. Participants are casual runners, serious runners and sometimes even professionals, but most often are somewhere in between. The majority of teams have 10 runners and 2 volunteers (plus other support staff) who make their way from Idaho Springs Colorado to Glenwood Springs, Colorado with each team member running three “legs” of the relay (each averages ~6 miles). Other teams have between 6-12 members (Non-Conformist category) or 5 members (Ultra category).

Doing something about it
The Blue Planet Run will cover 15,200 miles, across 16 countries and 4 continents, 24 hours a day for 95 days to deliver an extremely urgent and important message: we can and must begin today to alleviate the catastrophic burden placed on over a billion people who, every day, must drink unsafe local water, or travel long distances on foot to search for safe water for themselves and their families.

The upcoming Sunrise to Sunset Relay will get an early start with Mike Melton running the whole 165 miles on his lonesome and leaving a day or so early in order to get to the finish with the relay runners. (more…)
