    by Abichal in Charity Runs

    Phil Essam writes:

This April the 19th and 20th, I will be competing at the Coburg 24hr in Melbourne. It’s my first 24hrs for a few years and I have put on a few kilos since the last one. I hope to be raising money for Legacy during the event. Legacy is an Australian Charity that helps the widows and families of Australian Serviceman and Women that don’t make it back from war. I think it’s a good cause and I have helped raise money for them the last few years by selling badges.

If you would like to help make a donation, please consider going to :

    Together We Run

John Wallace III recently finished a trans-USA crossing and now his parents have embarked on a campaign of their own, already on Day 46.

    John writes:
Many of you may be independently receiving emails from my folks but if not I wanted to get this out before they are into their fourth state.

They are clipping along at about 16 miles per day and are almost into Kentucky with their longest state, Illinois, in the rear view mirror. I couldn’t be prouder at their perseverance and positive attitude as the weather has been either rainy or muggy for many of the days on the road. They have spent almost 70% of the time sleeping in their tent through all sorts of hot and rainy conditions meeting all sorts of great folks in the process. (more…)

One sixth of our fellow human beings on Earth do not have daily, immediate access to the most basic of necessities: safe drinking water.

    Doing something about it

The Blue Planet Run will cover 15,200 miles, across 16 countries and 4 continents, 24 hours a day for 95 days to deliver an extremely urgent and important message: we can and must begin today to alleviate the catastrophic burden placed on over a billion people who, every day, must drink unsafe local water, or travel long distances on foot to search for safe water for themselves and their families.
