It’s Memorial Day weekend here in the US. So here in New York there is the New York Pioneer Memorial 100 miler, which is a 100 mile race over 3 days in 3 different locations. I missed the first day yesterday but happened to make it to the second race today. When I arrived, sitting there on a park bench calmly taking notes was Ted Corbitt and next to him Richie Innamorato. So here it is the last day! There is a definate sense of accomplishment out there, but for others there is still a lot of work to do. Everything seems settled, with the exception of the mens 10 day race, which looks like it will come down to the wire. I have to say that it has been quite interesting for me to look at it from the other side for a change. I hope that I have in some way given you a taste of what the races are about. This is me., Chanakhya, signing off. Check out the final results at the race site.

It’s the penultimate night, which I always thought was a strange one, You are kind of trying to figure out whether to save something for the final day. Or to do a little extra in-order to set up for your final goal.It is a cool evening and there is a certain mellow feeling in the camp.Glenn and Petr are playing cat and mouse. Asprihanal has taken a commanding lead in the 6 day race. Check out the race site at srichinmoyraces.org.

I got out to the race this afternoon and things were really buzzing. Petr Spacil had moved past Glenn in the 10 day, in the 6 day Asprihanal in closing in on Serge who has a shin splint that is slowing him down. Glenn when he came off a break said to me ” now the game begins” seems to relish the challenge.Let us not forget that there is a cooking crew that has to cater for around 150 people including handlers and workers, Sushovita and her assistants are doing a great job of keeping everyone fed. But with 3 days to go things are still subject to change. Keep tuned in.
