    Dear everybody,
This is jess, Kate’s youngest (and best…) daughter. I have been delegated the job to fill you all in on mums progress cos unsurprisingly i doubt she has much time to sit about and write emails. Chicago was apparently an absolutely stunning city with incredible skyscrapers and some beautiful buildings. Mum and the boys got a lovely photo of a beautiful sunrise behind the skyline (i’ll send the photo on when they send it to me) (more…)

    Ted Corbitt 12/12/2007 5:40AM

Ted Corbitt passed away this morning in a Houston hospital surrounded by friends and family.

The fraternity of road course measurers lost their father, their inspiration, and guiding light today.

May his light live on in all that strive to do the right thing with dignity and grace.

I just received a newsletter from BUS boss Richie Innamorato, via snail mail.

Most of you have heard that Sri Chinmoy died on October 11 at the age of 76. He was the creator and supporter of many ultra distance events in the NYC area and the world.

Very surprisingly and with great sadness Richie mentions that one of the greatest American runners of all times, generally considered the father of US Ultra Running, Olympic marathoner, designer of course certification standards in the US, friend and inspiration Ted Corbitt is seriously ill.
He’s in a Houston hospital. Unfortunately, I don’t have any further details. Richie requested that you do not call, send mail or e-mails. Just your prayers and thoughts.
