    Antibes 6 Day Race 2007

    The French 6 Day race starts tomorrow, 9th of June, in the South of France. 44 runners are signed up and 17 others have chosen to run the 48 hour which starts on the 14th and finishes at the same time as the 6 day. Ultrafondus seems to be helping out so hopefully there will be lots of updates on the site.
    Among the runners appearing will be Danish World Runner, Jesper Olsen, stretching his legs a little.

    New Race - Bornhold 48 Hour 2008

    After two years of hosting Denmark’s first 24 hour races which this year also included a 6 hour and a 50k, Race Director Kim Rasmussen will be hosting the countries first 48 hour race May 2nd 2008. The site has information about this new event though as yet its all in Danish. Email the RD with any questions as his English is acceptable.

    Tony Mangan at Surgères 2007

    Tony Mangan has been invited to run at the Surgères 48 hour race in France taking place in May this year. Probably the most famous of the 48 hour events, numerous recods and a plethora of excellent performances since the race’s inception in 1985 have made this an event for the elite of ultra and multiday running around the world.
    Sandra and Richard Brown from England will both be there as will Sandy Powell from the US.

    Köln Self-Transcendence 24/48 Cancelled 2007

    The Köln/Cologne 24/48 hour annual event wont’t be taking place this year again due to problems securing a course.However the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in Germany is hosting a new event, the Self-Transcendence 24 hour race in Berlin taking place on the 6/7 of October.

    I felt the Japanese runners eyes burning holes through my back. We were in the latter hours of the Brno 48 hour indoor international endurance race in the Czech Republic. He was probably wondering who was this upstart. I had googled him last week and knew he was a member of their gold medal-winning team from the world 24 hour championships in Taiwan.     Brno 48 Hour 2007 Results:

    Correction.
    Tony Mangan’s reported mileage was incorrectly stated as being 246.81 miles (426.178km) instead of 264.81 miles.

    This is a tremendous performance and I would like to offer my congratulations to Tony for setting a new 48 hour Indoor World Record.
