Athens International Ultra Fesival 2011 1000 Km Results

athens international ultrafestival logo for multidays.comCongratulations to Trond Sjavic and Sarah Barnett for winning the Athens 1000 km World Cup at the 2011 Athens International Ultra Festival in Greece.

This is the only event of its kind currently being held. Last year the main event at the Ultra Festival was the 16 day 1000 mile race won by Wolfgang Schwerk who returned again to complete one of the worlds longest ultramarathons. Congratulations also to Race Director Costas Baxevanis who even managed to run 200 miles in the early phase of the race.

In the 7 day race Sharon Gayter broke the current British 6-day road record of 730.6km winning the race outright. Read a previous post on the AIUF
