The Municipality of Larissa the Bookstore “Anemos” with the polite participation of the Hellenic Association of Dayrunners as technical consultant of the race, proclaim an international 6 & 12 hours superdistance track race of in the national stadium of Larissa with the name: Anemos Night Ultra Running 2016

Course details: The race takes place within the stadium. It is a circular course which is essentially a lap of 400 meters. The race is a great opportunity for one last training test for the runners participating in SPARTATHLON next September, and it also addresses runners who wish to participate in a superdistance race which on its larger part is conducted during night-time

The Application

Right for participation: All the athletes, male or female, have a right to participate. Those athletes must have at least participated in one Marathon or in any superdistance race in the last 3 years, and have completed their 18th year.  The athletes must be in a good physical condition in order to cope with the great volume of kilometres.  Furthermore, the athletes must have recently passed medical examinations.

ALL THE ATHLETES MUST PRODUCE A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE BEFORE THE START OF THE RACE AND RECEIVING THEIR NUMBER, EITHER FROM A PATHOLOGIST OR A CARDIOLOGIST, OR PNEUMOLOGIST THAT WILL CERTIFY THE GOOD CONDITION OF THEIR HEALTH IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STRENUOUS RACE.

NO ATHLETE WILL PARTICIPATE IF HE/SHE DOES NOT PRODUCE THE NECESSARY MEDICAL CERTIFICATE.

Furthermore, the athletes will be called to sign a statutory declaration upon receiving their number, declaring that they will compete only with their own responsibility.

Participation fee: The fee per runner is 20 euros for the 6 hour race and 30 euros for the corresponding 12 hours race. You are called to deposit the relative amount, until Wednesday 15/06/2016, in order to have a valid participation. Bank account number

Before the race: The runners are called to be at the start of the race – national stadium of Larissa until one hour and a half before the start. The secretariat will give the numbers and the timing chips from 18:30 Saturday on 18/06. The numbers and the chips will be given on a specially formed space within the stadium. The timing chip will be returned at the end of the race.

Items safekeeping: There will be people of the organisation at a specific space within the stadium where you can leave your personal items.

Prizes:  A valuable commemorative medal as well as a participation diploma with the kilometres run by each athlete will be awarded to all the runners who will finish!
Cups will be given to the first 6 men and first 6 women of each race.
Feeding stations:  There will be a central feeding station which will provide water, electrolytes and food of high calorie density for the energy support of the athletes.

Electronic timing – Results: The electronic timing and the issuance of the results will be undertaken by a timing company.

After the race: The award ceremonies for the athletes of the 6 hour and 12 hour race will take place after each race and specifically on 02:30 & 08:30 respectively.  The stadium’s dressing rooms and baths will be available for the rehabilitation of the athletes.

REGULATIONS

Article 1

The runners must provide the details of their escort

Article 2

During the race the escort can help the athletes only at the points determined by the Race Organization Committee.  Each violation by the escort entails the disqualification of the athelete.

Article 3

When the athletes exit the race track from the determined points, they are obliged to enter it again from the same points where they exited.

Article 4

The athletes exiting the race venue are disqualified.

Article 5

The competing athlete is not permitted to obstruct another athlete in a way that hinders his/her attainment.

Article 6

The competing athlete cannot demonstrate an improper behaviour towards a fellow athlete or towards the Race Organization Committee.  If during the race an athlete detects a violation of article 2, then he/she is obliged to notify the judges or the organizers. In no case this athlete has the right to act on his/her own accord.

Article 7

The athletes are obliged to undergo an antidoping control if it is considered necessary by the Race Organization Committee.

Article 8

The athletes are disqualified:  a) for violating the regulations articles b) if the competent physicians of the race consider it necessary.

Article 9

The runners can have their own feeding point only within the limits determined by race organization and this within the limits of 3 square meters. The escorts are not permitted to provide support within the determined area.

Article 10

The runners will have an analytical record of their times from the timing system for all their laps one by one and the results will be regularly presented with the classification and the amount of laps for each runner.  The results will be available Online with a small 5 minute delay.

Article 11

With the termination of the time limit of each race, the runners stop on the point they are and the distance will be measured from their last lap to the point they have stopped.
