Subject: Desert Solstice 24 Hour

List,

I would like to announce the second annual Desert Solstice 24 Hour, held in Phoenix, AZ on December 17-18.

This year the race will be held on a 400 meter all-weather track, and entry is by qualification or invitation only. The race is designed to encourage
national-class performances at the 100 mile and 24 hour levels, and serve as an ideal qualifier for the 24 hour national team. Entry is guaranteed if a
runner has completed 135 miles (men) or 120 miles (women) in 24 hours, and can be granted if a runner has demonstrated the ability to hit these
standards.

We currently have 11 accepted runners, with a limit of 20. For your enjoyment, we will be broadcasting a live webcam and results. If you know of anyone interested in this type of event, we are still accepting applications. There is no entry fee, but we are encouraging donations for the Central High School running club who is providing the track.
