Just before 8pm on day 46 Pranab Vladovic from Slovakia became the second finisher in the 2008 edition of the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race. His unofficial time of 45 days 13 hours and 52 minutes, was I believe a personal best. Congratulations Pranab!!! from Multidays, com.
Just before 3pm on day 29 Asprihanal Aalto from Finland reached 2000 mile for the 8th time in the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race. All but 3 of the 14 runners in this years race have now passed 1550 miles the half way distance mark. (more…)
So for the first time this summer I went out to run twice today. First in the morning I went out with Utpal, I felt kind of heavy the whole run, but stayed strong the full distance of 6 miles. It was very humid and I was quite wet when I finished.
Just after 2pm I went out again and felt surprisingly strong, it was a little less humid so I stayed out a little longer and ran 7 miles this time. some of it on the 3100 mile course while
chatting with a couple of the runners.
For the last couple of days it has been quite humid all day and today it seems that some of the runners are feeling that this has sapped some of their energy, but they keep on plugging away.
almost every day some one comes out to play live music to entertain the runners and helpers.
It’s the 4th of July Holiday here in the US and there is a lot of extra activity around the race. I think that the runners were responding to all the extra energy and everyone seemed to be doing quite well. There were lots of visits from people bringing treets. As the the night descended fireworks began to ring out, which I think was quite entertaining for the runners
The day itself was quite humid, mainly because the day was a mix of Sun and rain showers, but I think generally it was a good day.
