STURGEON BAY. Wis. (AP) - A 41-year-old Madison man has completed a more than one-thousand mile run on Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail.

Jason Dorgan finished the final 30 miles yesterday at Potowatomi State Park in Door County. That ended an estimated 1,079-mile trek, which began April 14 at St. Croix Falls.

He spent from 10 to 12 hours a day on the trek, often with runners who joined him, while receiving logistical support from a small crew of friends. He averaged about 48 miles per day.

Dorgan says he just kept getting stronger and the final day was a breeze for him, but he says his feet are pretty beat up.

Dorgan previously had run endurance races.

He finished the 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon through Death Valley in 2005 and the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, four 100-mile races in 14 weeks, in 2001.
