News from la Transe Gaule 2007:

- 39 inscrits au 30 avril - April 30: 39 runners -

Avec 7 inscriptions supplémentaires en avril, 36 hommes et 4 femmes sont maintenant inscrits pour la Transe Gaule VI. Quelques-uns parmi eux devront confirmer leur engagement dans les semaines à venir. Cinq autres coureurs ont mis une option sur 5 possibles inscriptions supplémentaires.

Seven more runners entered this month so there are now 36 men et 4 women in the la Transe Gaule VI list. Some of them still have to confirm. Five other runners said they could enter depending of professional or personal availability.

Les inscrits d’avril - April entrants :

- Hermann Böhm, Dietrich Eberle et Hans-Joachim Meyer* viennent renforcer le Team Allemagne (13 coureurs). H.-J. Meyer*, 23è de la TG 2006, est le président du « 100 Marathon Club Deutschland », club regroupant des coureurs ayant totalisé 100 jours de course (ou beaucoup plus…) d’une distance égale ou supérieure au marathon. Au 31/12/2006 Président Hans-Jo montrait l’exemple en en totalisant pour sa part 1028 (727 marathons + 301 ultramarathons).

Hermann Böhm, Dietrich Eberle and Hans-Joachim Meyer* add 3 more units to the German delegation (13 runners). Hans-Jo Meyer*, 23rd in TG 2006, is the President of « 100 Marathon Club Deutschland » and he ran himself 727 marathons plus 301 ultras (at 31/12/06).

- Frédéric Gallais (Sanary-sur-Mer) : 9h04’ sur 100 km, 173.5 km sur 24 heures et Finisher de la Fortiche de Maurienne, méga-course alpine trop tôt disparue.

- Gérard Habasque (St-Pol-de-Léon) : 9h14′ sur 100 km, 178 km sur 24 heures. Réside dans la première commune traversée par la Transe Gaule, 5 km après le départ de Roscoff. Après s’être sectionné une phalange d’un doigt de la main en taillant sa haie cet hiver (par bonheur parfaitement “recollée” depuis), il a su mettre à profit un long arrêt de travail forcé pour s’entraîner.

Gérard Habasque: 9h14′ sur 100 km, 178 km sur 24 heures. He lives in St-Pol-de-Léon which is the first town visited by TG route, only 5K after the start line at Roscoff. This winter a serious domestic accident (hand injured, happily not foot !) forced him to stop working for months, so he used this unwanted free time for training hard.

- Romain Rambaud (Antibes) : 9h57’ sur 100 km, 169 km sur 24 heures. Il sera, à 24 ans, le cadet de la caravane dont la moyenne d’âge est cette année de …48 ans (47 ans en 2006, 46 ans en 2005). Si jeunesse implique moindre expérience de l’Ultra, elle est cependant un véritable atout du point de vue de la récupération. On n’a pas oublié que le vainqueur de la TG 2002, Rainer Koch*, n’avait pas 22 ans sur la ligne d’arrivée et qu’il passait la plupart de ses après-midi à visiter les villes-étapes à pied quand presque tout le monde faisait la sieste !

Romain Rambaud: 9h57′ for 100K, 169K for 24 hours. At 24, he will be the youngest between all starters whose average age is …48 (47 in 2006, 46 in 2005). Maybe less experience with ultrarunning for him but don’t forget that Rainer Koch* was only 22 years old when he won TG 2002, spending his afternoons visiting stage-cities by foot when all others were taking some rest!
