THE COASTAL CHALLENGE AND TRAIL RUNNER MAGAZINE ANNOUNCE
    FIRST OF TWO CONTEST WINNERS

Maxime Pommier of Cupertino, California Won Entry to The Coastal Challenge in Costa Rica; Contest Continues Through June 2007

TRUMBULL , CONN. — The Coastal Challenge, the world’s most exciting international event on the off-road race calendar, and Trail Runner, the magazine dedicated to one of America’s fastest growing sports, have announced Maxime Pommier of Cupertino has won a free entry to the February 2007 “Route of Fire” expedition running event. The complete prize package, including race entry, hotel accommodations and much more, is valued at approximately $2,135.

Maxime is the first of two scheduled winners, and she will have the opportunity to join runners from more than 15 countries participating in one of three categories — the 230-km Expedition Run, 115-km Adventure Run or pre-packaged Adventure Tours (winning entry may be deferred to 2008).

“By offering three levels of participation, The Coastal Challenge is opened up to a more broad audience while maintaining its integrity as a highly competitive expedition race,” said Tim Holmstrom, race director and co-founder. “This really sets our event apart from all others, and it makes us an option for more runners and adventure athletes — including just about anyone who reads Trail Runner magazine.”

Contest registration, which began on November 3, 2006, will remain on Trail Runner’s web site for the duration of the contest, which closes June 30, 2007. The second winner, for entry to the 2008 Coastal Challenge, will be announced on or near July 2, 2007. The race and contest were featured in the magazine’s Race Calendar issue (January 2007) with contest plugs on the cover and in the “Take Your Mark” column. Complete details, rules and registration are online at www.trailrunnermag.com.

Runners can still sign up for the 2007 Coastal Challenge until January 15 or the 125 runner cap is reached. Details are available at www.thecoastalchallenge.com/registration/registration.htm.
